The Grand Prairie Police Department
The Grand Prairie Police Department Custody Center is part of the Investigative Services Agency under the direction of Deputy Chief Mike Taylor. The facility has the size to house 210 inmates. The imprisonment center consists of five cell slabs, four temporary allotment blocks, and two special administration cells. There are also six distinct cells for short time housing of adolescent offenders. There is currently one detention administrator, four detention superintendents and 36 detention officers dispensed to the center. The center is situated at Grand Prairie Public Safety Building at 1525., Grand Prairie, TX 75052. The center is usual open 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. The pledge desk cannot accept cash payments between 5 a.m.-6 a.m. and 5 p.m.-6 p.m. The center is an allotment facility. This means that prisoners are generally limited to less than 72 hours before being free or transferred to another facility. Grand Prairie is located in four counties. Bond on some misbehaviors and felony charges must be dispatched at the county where the event will be filed:
This is an administrative process detailing a prisoner’s entry into the jail. The process includes gathering information such as the person’s name, medical, , reason for the arrest (criminal charge(s)), address and mental health transmission, inventorying personal property, taking photographs and thumbprints, categorizing the prisoner to a cell and having the custody supervisor review each prisoner’s personal best to make sure all parts of the procedures have been accomplished and are accurate.
The City of Grand Prairie assigns a financial value for time expended in the custody for a City of Grand Prairie Class C offense ticket or warrant. A civic judge determines jail acclaim as regulated by state law. Typically, prisoners may receive $100 for every 24 hours spent in jail.
Individual items of suitability and money may not be added to the prisoner’s possessions. Prisoner treatment medication will be accepted and bestowed in the prescribed manner. Medication must have the convict’s name on the bottle, and the prescription directives must be clear and intelligible. Medication in the decanter must be the same as registered on the prescription bottle.
