The Arlington Police Department is committed to a geographic-policing philosophy to address crime in the city which has a population of 674,433 people. The police department has several units which include: Financial Crimes & ID Theft, Internal Affairs, Gang Unit, K9 Unit, Aviation Unit, School Officers and Police Districts. The Police Department Warrant Division is responsible for clearing all warrants from the Arlington Municipal Court. Located in Arlington City, the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center is the main correction and detention center in the area. The Center can be contacted by phone through 817-459-5700 and by mail at 620 W Division St Arlington, TX 76004-1065. The police chief of the center is Will Johnson who can be reached through his office at the Public Safety Center.
The correction center follows a guideline for an intake and booking process. First, they hold potential inmates in a cell who are then questioned, and personal details are collected. The process continues until the candidate is given a chance for a phone call to their next of kin.
Important Jail Policies and Procedures:
As with many detention centers, the Ott Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center accepts emails are sent to inmates only through the US Postal Service. If the mail is not delivered, they are returned to the sender. Sending money to an inmate is easy since each is given a bank account. All checks and money orders have to indicate the prisoner’s id and full names.
Visiting hours are controlled by the center where visitors go through a screening process before they can be allowed on the premises. The inmates are required to provide a full list of all their guests including their full names and date of birth.
